Utkinton is a small village and civil parish in Cheshire West and Chester, England, sitting a few miles north of Tarporley and on the fringe of Delamere Forest. The landscape is typically rural Cheshire – rolling farmland, copses and hedgerows – and the built environment features stone and timber-framed cottages clustered around a village green; the parish also encompasses the small hamlet of Cotebrook.
Historically the settlement grew from agriculture and a handful of country houses, most notably Utkinton Hall, a timber-framed manor of local interest, and the village retains a strong community focus around its church and village amenities. Its proximity to forest trails and to the city of Chester makes it appealing both to walkers and to commuters, combining quiet rural character with easy access to regional historic and recreational attractions.
