Gloucester sits on the edge of the tidal River Severn in Gloucestershire, England, a city with Roman origins known as Glevum. Its waterside Gloucester Docks were a busy Victorian port and have been sensitively regenerated into shops, the National Waterways Museum and waterside apartments, while the city lies close to the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean, giving easy access to attractive countryside.
