Shadoxhurst is a small, largely rural village just outside the town of Ashford in Kent, England, sitting in the wooded landscape of the Weald of Kent. It’s characterised by lanes, patchwork farmland and pockets of ancient woodland, giving it a distinctly rural feel despite being within easy reach of town services.
The village has long, mostly agricultural roots with a history of hop-growing and small-scale farming, and retains a number of historic cottages and a parish community focus. Local life centres on village events and the village hall, while many residents now commute via nearby Ashford for work or onward rail travel to London, so Shadoxhurst combines traditional rural character with modern links to the wider region.
