Freckleton is a village and civil parish in the Borough of Fylde, in Lancashire, England, set on the flat coastal plain of the Fylde between Kirkham and Lytham St Annes. The surrounding landscape is characterised by agricultural fields and low-lying marshes close to the Ribble estuary, and the village benefits from good road links to Preston and Blackpool, making it both a local service centre and a dormitory for nearby towns.
Freckleton retains a strong village community with shops, pubs, sports clubs and an active village hall, and it marks its local identity with annual events and grassroots organisations. The place also bears a poignant history: in 1944 a USAAF aircraft crash at a local air display caused heavy loss of life and is still commemorated locally. Today the economy mixes traditional farming, small businesses and commuting, while proximity to the coast and estuary gives residents easy access to coastal recreation and wildlife.
