Gawsworth is a small village and civil parish in Cheshire East, set in the rolling countryside a few miles south of Macclesfield and west of Congleton. The landscape is largely rural, with farms, scattered houses and networked footpaths that give the area a quiet, agricultural character while also making it a popular commuter and leisure spot for nearby towns.
Its most notable features are the historic buildings clustered around the village: the moated Tudor manor of Gawsworth Hall with its gardens and the adjoining medieval St James' Church, which contains a number of interesting funerary monuments. That heritage gives the village a strong local identity, supported by a small, close‑knit community and occasional heritage open days and events that draw visitors interested in Cheshire history.
