Whitcombe is a tiny rural parish in Dorset, England, set among the rolling downland and hedged fields that characterise much of the county. The settlement is made up of a handful of farms and cottages clustered near a small medieval church, with quiet lanes, old stone farmhouses and open pasture giving it a distinctly low‑density, rural feel.
Historically agricultural, the local economy remains centred on farming, though a few properties have diversified into holiday accommodation and small rural enterprises. With a very small population social life is limited but there is a strong sense of continuity in local traditions and the historic landscape, and many administrative and community functions are handled in partnership with neighbouring parishes.
