Leominster is a historic market town in Herefordshire in the west of England, about 12 miles north of Hereford, set on the banks of the River Lugg. It grew up around a Norman priory and the centre still shows many black‑and‑white timbered buildings alongside the large parish church of St Peter and St Paul; the surrounding rolling countryside and nearby Croft Castle and Mortimer Forest make it a pleasant base for exploring the borderlands.
Today Leominster remains an agricultural and market hub, known for independent shops, a lively antiques scene, farmers’ markets and local food producers including orchards and cider makers. Good road and rail links - the A49 and the Welsh Marches Line - make it a convenient stop for visitors and sustain an active community calendar of markets and events.
