Boxmoor is an electoral ward in the borough of Dacorum, in the county of Hertfordshire, lying on the southern edge of Hemel Hempstead. The ward is notable for its ribbon of green beside the Grand Union Canal and the small chalk-stream River Bulbourne, and the presence of the long‑standing Box Moor Trust means there are extensive meadows and commons that give the area a village feel despite suburban surroundings.
Historically the canal and river supported mills and small industry, and later the growth of Hemel Hempstead New Town brought residential development; today the ward functions largely as a commuter area with good road and rail access towards London Euston and the M1, while retaining local shops, pubs and active community groups that make it socially cohesive.
