Hertingfordbury is a compact village and civil parish in East Hertfordshire, Hertfordshire, England, set in the shallow valley of the River Mimram just to the west of Hertford. Its character is defined by riverside meadows, historic mill ponds and a number of listed buildings, most notably the Georgian country house Island Hall, which sits on an island in the river and helps give the place a strong heritage feel.
Today the area is largely residential with a mixture of small local businesses, agriculture and an active community life centred on the village hall and occasional fetes and conservation projects; many residents commute to Hertford or London while walkers and history enthusiasts are drawn by the riverside paths and architectural interest. The balance of rural landscape and close links to nearby towns gives it a quietly attractive, village-y atmosphere.
