Elstree and Borehamwood is a civil parish in the borough of Hertsmere, in Hertfordshire, lying just north of London on the commuter belt. The parish combines suburban neighbourhoods with pockets of countryside and parkland - notably Aldenham Country Park - and is well served by road and a Thameslink rail station giving regular services into central London.
Its best‑known feature is the long history of film and television production centred on Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, which has hosted major films and TV shows and supports a lasting creative economy. The area retains older village cores, wartime and medieval layers of history, and a diverse, largely family‑oriented population who commute, work locally in media and services, or enjoy the parish’s community events and green spaces.
