Caledonian is a ward in the northern part of the London Borough of Islington, positioned close to King's Cross and Highbury. Its most recognisable landmark is the mid‑19th century clock tower in Caledonian Park, the surviving feature of the old Metropolitan Cattle Market, and the area is served by Caledonian Road tube station on the Piccadilly line.
The neighbourhood mixes Victorian terraces, social housing and newer developments, and has seen steady gentrification with independent shops, cafés and community projects alongside longstanding local networks; local streets reflect a history of markets and industry while the park and community centres host occasional cultural events and gatherings.
