Cuerden is a small civil parish in the Borough of Chorley, Lancashire, in England, set on gently undulating farmland between the towns of Preston and Chorley. The parish is largely rural, with fields, hedgerows and belts of woodland; the low-lying valley carved by the River Lostock forms a distinctive green corridor through the area.
Its historic focus is the estate around Cuerden Hall, and much of the former estate is now public amenity as Cuerden Valley Park, popular for walks, wildlife watching and community events. The local economy remains a mix of agriculture and small enterprises, while good transport links make the area attractive to commuters travelling towards Preston and Manchester, lending the parish a quiet, semi-rural character with active conservation and volunteer networks.
