Chipping is a small, picturesque village in the heart of the Ribble Valley, Lancashire, England, set in rolling countryside on the edge of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and tucked into the Hodder valley near the River Hodder. Its compact centre, stone cottages and village green give it a very traditional Lancashire feel and make it a popular base for walkers and country visitors.
Historically a farming and market settlement, Chipping retains a strong rural economy mixed with tourism, independent shops, tearooms and a few long-established pubs. The village has an active community life and a number of historic buildings and features that reflect its agricultural past, so it feels both lived-in and attractive to those exploring the Ribble Valley and surrounding fells.
