Aylsham is a market town and civil parish in the district of Broadland, in the county of Norfolk, England. Set on the banks of the River Bure about twelve miles north of Norwich, it sits close to the Norfolk Broads and the National Trust estate at Blickling Hall, giving it a pleasant mix of riverside and parkland surroundings.
With medieval roots reflected in its compact market square and a mix of timber‑framed and Georgian buildings, the town grew from agricultural and market trade. Today its economy blends local services, independent shops and tourism - helped by the preserved Bure Valley Railway - and an active community life of markets, clubs and events, while many residents commute to Norwich for work.
