Little Witchingham is a small, quietly rural parish in the Broadland district of Norfolk, a few miles to the north of Norwich and adjoining the better-known village of Great Witchingham. The landscape is typical Norfolk countryside - hedged arable fields, scattered farms and lanes - and the area benefits from easy access to the Broads-style wetland country and pockets of woodland and wildlife that make it attractive for walkers and birdwatchers.
Historically the settlement has an agricultural character and a very small population, which today combines farming with people who commute into Norwich; community life tends to be centred on neighbouring villages rather than any large local centre. Visitors will notice the tranquillity, a handful of older farmhouses and cottages that hint at a long local past, and the simple rural rhythms that define much of Broadland’s village life.
