Wymondham is a historic market town in the district of South Norfolk, in the county of Norfolk, England, lying on the banks of the River Tiffey about nine miles south‑west of Norwich. Its origins are medieval and the skyline is dominated by the impressive 12th‑century Wymondham Abbey, while the town centre still shows medieval street patterns alongside Georgian terraces and former coaching inns.
Today Wymondham combines a busy local market and independent shops with light industry and a growing commuter population who travel into Norwich by rail. It has an active community life with heritage groups, a museum and seasonal events, and is popular with visitors interested in Norfolk history, architecture and accessible countryside walks.
