Bamburgh is a small coastal village on the north-east shore of Northumberland in England, set beneath the commanding keep of Bamburgh Castle and overlooking the North Sea. The village sits on a long, sandy beach and forms part of the rugged Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making it a magnet for walkers, birdwatchers and surfers as well as anyone after dramatic coastal views.

Historically the site was an important royal stronghold in the early medieval kingdom of Northumbria and the castle that dominates the skyline was heavily restored in the 19th century; it now houses significant collections and draws much of the local tourist economy. Today Bamburgh retains a small, seasonal community with fishing, hospitality and heritage tourism at its heart, while village events and a strong sense of local identity keep it more than just a day‑trip destination.
