Drayton is a village and civil parish in the Vale of White Horse district of Oxfordshire, lying a few miles south of Abingdon and within easy reach of Didcot and Oxford. Historically part of Berkshire until the 1974 boundary changes, it sits in a patchwork of arable fields and hedged lanes typical of the low-lying vale, with the chalk downland and celebrated local landmarks such as the Uffington White Horse not far away.
Originally an agricultural settlement, Drayton has a mix of historic cottages and more modern housing, a village hall and a primary school that help sustain a lively community calendar; economically many residents commute to nearby research and business hubs such as Harwell and Milton Park or to Oxford, yet the village still retains a distinctly rural, community-oriented character.
