Gleadless Valley is an electoral ward in the south‑east of Sheffield, England, centred on a distinctive post‑war housing estate that nestles in a chain of wooded valleys. The topography gives the area unusually generous green corridors and parks for an urban ward, with footpaths and wooded slopes that provide wildlife habitats and good views back over the city.
Predominantly built as council housing in the mid‑20th century, the ward has a mixed social profile and local services such as shops, schools and community centres and is served by frequent buses and the Supertram. There has been ongoing regeneration and active residents' groups working on community projects and improvements, while traces of the area's rural and industrial past can still be read in field patterns and small former colliery sites around the valley edges.
