Cheadle is a suburban town in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, in Greater Manchester and historically part of Cheshire. It sits just south of Manchester, close to the M60 ring road and the A34, making it a convenient commuter base roughly six miles from the city centre.
The centre of Cheadle features a pleasant conservation area of Georgian and Victorian buildings, independent shops, cafés and traditional pubs, while the nearby Cheadle Royal complex provides offices and medical facilities. Once a small settlement that expanded in the 19th century with improved roads and rail links, it is now a relatively affluent, family‑oriented suburb with good schools, local community events and easy access to parks and the Cheshire countryside.
