Penketh is a civil parish and suburb on the eastern edge of Warrington in Cheshire, north‑west England. Originally a small rural village it expanded through the 19th and 20th centuries as Warrington grew, and sits near the River Mersey and surrounding green belt, giving residents a mixture of village character and easy access to town amenities.
Today the area is largely residential with local shops, schools and community clubs that sustain a village feel, while many people commute to jobs across Warrington, Manchester and Liverpool. There are pockets of light industry and riverside leisure, and an active parish community works to protect local green spaces and the area’s historic roots.
