Greystoke is a small village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Westmorland and Furness in north‑west England, set on the northern fringe of the Lake District a few miles south of Penrith. It sits amid rolling farmland and estate woodland with clear views towards the fells, making it popular with walkers and visitors looking for a quieter base close to the national park.
The village is dominated historically by Greystoke Castle, largely remodelled in the 19th century around medieval remains, and the medieval parish of St Andrew's Church; the Greystoke name has long local roots and even appears in popular culture as the aristocratic title “Lord Greystoke.” The local economy remains largely agricultural with a strong element of rural tourism and community life centred on the church, village events and links into nearby Penrith for services and transport.
