Barnston is a small, semi-rural village on the Wirral Peninsula in England, lying just east of Heswall and close to Thingwall. It occupies higher ground with fields, country lanes and pockets of woodland, and there are pleasant views across the Dee Estuary towards Wales.
Historically agricultural and formerly part of Cheshire, local government reorganisation placed it within the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral in Merseyside. Today Barnston is largely residential with many commuters travelling to Liverpool and Chester, while village life centres on the church, the hall and nearby walking routes and nature reserves.
