Liscard sits at the heart of Wallasey on the Wirral peninsula in Merseyside, historically part of Cheshire. It functions as the town centre with civic buildings such as Wallasey Town Hall and the Concourse shopping centre, and is characterised by a mix of Victorian and Edwardian streets close to the Mersey with views across to Liverpool.
The ward contains a diverse community and a local economy based on retail, small businesses and public services; like many post‑industrial towns it has seen regeneration alongside social and economic challenges. Green and leisure spaces such as Queen's Gardens and easy links to the ferry at Seacombe give it a riverside character and keep it a focal point for civic and cultural activity locally.
