Glenravel is a largely rural ward in Mid and East Antrim, in the north‑east of County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It sits on a series of upland valleys and rolling farmland between the more famous Glens of Antrim and the market town of Ballymena, and includes small settlements such as Cargan and Martinstown, with patchworks of hedged fields, forestry and wayside streams that make it popular for local walking and countryside pursuits.
The area has a traditional rural economy centred on agriculture with small service and commuting links into nearby towns, and a strong local community life around churches, halls and sports clubs. Historic features are modest rather than grand - rural vernacular buildings, small industrial remnants and local place‑names - but there is a clear sense of local identity and continuity in cultural activities and seasonal events.
