Davaar sits at the mouth of Campbeltown Loch off the Kintyre peninsula in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. The island is linked to Campbeltown by a tidal causeway that appears at low tide, making it a popular short excursion for walkers and visitors from the town.
Despite a very small resident population, Davaar is notable for its dramatic coastal scenery, seabird colonies and seal sightings, and above all a late‑19th‑century cave painting of the Last Supper that draws curious visitors and occasional conservation attention; there are also small-scale crofting, holiday lets and scenic coastal walks that shape the island’s quiet local economy and social life.
