Haverfordwest is the county town of Pembrokeshire in Wales, set on the tidal River Cleddau. The town has a compact medieval core of narrow streets and alleyways clustered around the remains of Haverfordwest Castle, with a riverside setting and an old bridge that hint at its origins as a market and administrative centre.
Today it acts as the service and retail hub for the surrounding rural area, with a mix of independent shops, regular markets and public services supporting local agriculture and tourism. It’s also a handy gateway for visitors heading west into the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the nearby port at Milford Haven, while good road and rail links keep it connected to larger centres in the region.
