Halliwell is an inner-urban ward to the north-west of Bolton town centre in Greater Manchester, historically part of Lancashire. It has a compact, urban feel with rows of Victorian terraces and remnants of the town’s industrial past, mixed with local parades of shops along Halliwell Road and a scattering of churches and pubs that reflect its long-established community.
Despite being close to the bustle of Bolton town centre and commuter links towards Manchester, the area still benefits from nearby green spaces such as Queen's Park and ongoing local regeneration efforts; socially it’s a neighbourhood of mixed incomes and cultures with a tangible sense of local identity rather than a commuter suburb.
