Tarvin is a large village and civil parish in Cheshire West and Chester, set on the gentle Cheshire Plain about six miles east of Chester. The settlement sits by the River Gowy and has a compact centre of historic stone and brick houses, with a designated conservation area and surrounding mixed farmland.
With medieval roots and activity during the English Civil War, Tarvin now combines a rural, agricultural heritage with a role as a popular commuter village: it supports local shops, a primary school and a busy community calendar of fairs and events. Good road links to Chester and nearby green spaces such as Delamere Forest make it appealing to families and walkers while its historic character remains apparent.
