Launceston South is a ward covering the southern side of the historic market town of Launceston in Cornwall, England. It includes Victorian and older stone-built streets close to the town centre and slopes down towards the wooded valley of the River Tamar, sitting near the county boundary with Devon.
The area mixes residential neighbourhoods, local shops and small businesses, with tourism linked to the nearby medieval Launceston Castle and good access to surrounding countryside; agriculture still plays a part in the local economy. Socially it blends long-standing local families with commuters and has active community groups and parish activities, while facing familiar rural challenges such as transport and affordable housing.
