Lawhitton Rural lies in east Cornwall, a few miles from Launceston and close to the border with Devon. It’s a quietly rural area of rolling fields, hedgerows and narrow lanes, with scattered hamlets and traditional stone cottages punctuating the landscape and the nearby River Tamar and its tributaries shaping local valleys and boundaries.
The community is small and largely agricultural, with dairy and mixed farming alongside some smallholdings and residents who commute to nearby towns. There are traces of medieval settlement and a historic parish church, while village halls, seasonal events and well-used footpaths give the place a gently social, community-minded feel typical of east Cornwall.
