Morval sits in east Cornwall, a compact rural parish a few miles inland from the small port of Looe and close to Liskeard. The landscape is classic rolling Cornish farmland with narrow lanes, hedgerows and convenient access for walkers heading towards the coast or nearby moors.
Historically the community grew around a manor and parish church and you can still see several old houses and farmsteads; the local economy remains largely agricultural with a degree of commuting to surrounding towns and some tourism. Social life is typically quiet and close-knit, with village events and local conservation efforts helping to preserve the parish’s character.
