Pensilva is a small village in eastern Cornwall, England, sitting on the fringe of Bodmin Moor in the civil parish of Linkinhorne. It grew largely in the 19th and early 20th centuries in connection with the mining activity on nearby Caradon Hill, and today the village is set amid heath, woodland and farmland, popular with walkers and people seeking easy access to open moorland while still being a short drive from Liskeard and the A38.
Socially and economically Pensilva is largely residential with a strong local community: there are village amenities such as a hall, a pub and a primary school, and community events and volunteering are important locally. The landscape and mining heritage attract visitors interested in outdoor recreation and industrial archaeology, while farming, forestry and rural tourism remain significant to the local economy.
