The civil parish of Grassmoor, Hasland and Winswick lies on the eastern edge of Chesterfield in North East Derbyshire, Derbyshire, England. It mixes suburban streets with stretches of reclaimed former colliery land: Grassmoor in particular was shaped by 19th–20th century coal mining, and today spoil heaps and lagoons have been softened into parks and nature areas that attract wildlife and walkers.
Now largely residential and part of the commuter belt for Chesterfield, Sheffield and Derby, the parish supports local shops, schools, village halls and an active parish council, while community life still features sports clubs and local events. The combination of green corridors, nature reserves and visible industrial heritage gives the area a distinct character, with the open landscapes and the Peak District within easy reach for day trips.
