West Bridgford is a large suburban town in the borough of Rushcliffe, Nottinghamshire in England, sitting on the south bank of the River Trent opposite Nottingham. It’s best known for its sporting landmarks - the famous Trent Bridge cricket ground and the City Ground football stadium both sit within the town - and for pleasant riverside walks and parks that give it a semi-rural feel despite being just a few minutes from the city centre.
Originally growing as a late‑Victorian and Edwardian commuter suburb, West Bridgford now combines leafy residential streets and period houses with a bustling centre of independent shops, cafés and restaurants along Central Avenue. The town is considered relatively affluent within the county, has well‑regarded schools and good road and bus links (notably the A52), and enjoys a strong local identity shaped by sport, community events and easy access to nearby leisure sites such as Holme Pierrepont.
