Bryanston is a small rural parish in north Dorset, set in gently rolling countryside a few miles north of Blandford Forum. The area is characterised by parkland, agricultural fields and lanes that lead towards the valley of the River Stour, giving a peaceful, pastoral feel despite easy road links to larger Dorset towns.
The focal point of the parish is the historic country estate at the heart of which sits Bryanston School, an independent boarding school established in 1928 that occupies the mansion and grounds and contributes noticeably to local life through arts, sports and employment. Beyond the school, Bryanston retains a quiet village character with farming still important to the local economy and a social life that revolves around the estate, village events and the surrounding Dorset landscape.
