South Acton is a neighbourhood and ward in the west of the Ealing borough of London, sitting just to the west of Acton town centre and within easy reach of Chiswick. The built environment mixes Victorian terraces, pockets of light industry and one of London’s better-known post-war council estates, and the area benefits from its own Overground station that gives straightforward cross-city connections.
The community is culturally diverse and has seen substantial regeneration over recent decades, replacing some older estate blocks with mixed‑tenure housing and new local shops. That change has brought small creative enterprises, community-led projects and ongoing debates about balancing development with preserving the area’s local character and social ties.
