Guiting Power is a small, picture-postcard village tucked into the rolling limestone hills of the Cotswold in Gloucestershire, England. Its honey-coloured stone cottages, narrow lanes and a small medieval church give it a very traditional Cotswold feel, and the surrounding pastures and dry-stone walls reflect a long agricultural history set within the wider Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Today the village combines farming with a steady trickle of walkers and visitors, and retains a lively local community that stages seasonal events and music gatherings which draw people from further afield. The “Power” in the name hints at medieval landowners, and while amenities are limited the village’s charm, rural setting and conservation-minded character make it typical of the quieter, heritage-rich corners of the Cotswolds.
