Upper Denby is a small village in Kirklees, West Yorkshire, England, perched on the western edge of the Pennines and a few miles east of Huddersfield, close to Denby Dale. Its position on the hillside gives good views over the surrounding valleys and makes it popular with walkers exploring the local countryside.
Historically the area grew up around agriculture with later links to the region’s coal and textile trades, and today it retains a rural village feel with stone-built houses and local community amenities; many residents commute to nearby towns while village events and groups keep a strong local social life.
