Brixton North is an electoral ward in the London Borough of Lambeth in England, covering the northern part of Brixton. It is an inner‑city area that mixes Victorian terraces with inter‑war and post‑war council housing, small parks and busy local high streets, and sits within easy reach of central London by tube and rail.
The ward shares much of Brixton's cultural vibrancy: a strong Afro‑Caribbean heritage tied to the Windrush generation around Windrush Square and institutions such as the Black Cultural Archives, lively street markets such as Brixton Market, and a busy music and food scene. At the same time it illustrates modern urban tensions, with long‑standing community networks and social housing existing alongside waves of regeneration, rising housing pressures and active local campaigning.
