Heysham is a compact coastal village on the southern shore of Morecambe Bay, in the district of Lancaster, Lancashire, England. Its rugged headland at Heysham Head shelters ancient sea‑cut graves and the evocative ruined St Patrick's Chapel, giving the place a surprisingly strong archaeological and historic character set against wide tidal flats and rich birdlife.
Today Heysham combines a small local community with clearer industrial footprints: the ferry terminal has long linked the village to the Isle of Man and beyond, while the neighbouring Heysham nuclear power station is a prominent employer and landmark. The result is a distinctive mix of village life, coastal recreation and working‑harbour atmosphere, with easy access to both Lancaster and nearby seaside towns.
