Poulton-le-Fylde is a small historic market town in the borough of Wyre, in Lancashire, set on the flat agricultural plain of the Fylde close to the upper reaches of the River Wyre and within easy reach of the seaside towns of Blackpool and Fleetwood.
It grew up around its medieval church, St Chad's Church, and still has a compact centre of traditional shops, independent businesses and a long‑running market. The town is characterised by attractive historic buildings and conservation areas, a strong local community life and an economy that mixes retail, small industry and commuting to the larger nearby towns.
