Ribchester is a village and civil parish in the Ribble Valley district of Lancashire, England, set on the north bank of the River Ribble and close to the A59 between Clitheroe and Preston, with the rolling fells of the Forest of Bowland AONB nearby.
It is best known for the Roman fort Bremetennacum and the local Roman museum, alongside the medieval St Wilfrid's church; today the parish mixes traditional agriculture with tourism and commuters to nearby towns, and retains a strong local community centred on pubs, walking routes and small events that reflect its long history.
