Sleaford is a market town and the administrative centre of North Kesteven in Lincolnshire, England, sited on the gentle valley of the River Slea. It has medieval origins and expanded in the 18th–19th centuries with coaching, canal and railway links, leaving a mix of Georgian and Victorian buildings; the surrounding economy is still rooted in agriculture alongside light engineering, local services and commuters travelling to Lincoln and beyond.
Today Sleaford has a lively community feel with regular markets, an active arts scene including craft and exhibition spaces, independent shops and cafés, and easy access to the attractive Lincolnshire countryside. Its proximity to RAF Cranwell and a number of heritage sites gives it a blend of military, historic and rural character that many visitors and residents find appealing.
