Miles Platting & Newton Heath sits a couple of miles north‑east of Manchester in England, an inner‑city area shaped by its industrial past. The ward grew up around canals, railways and mills, with the Rochdale Canal and the River Medlock running through patches of red‑brick terraces and former works that still mark the townscape.
