Hockering is a small rural village and civil parish in the district of Breckland, in Norfolk, England. It sits in gently rolling agricultural countryside on the edge of the distinctive heath and sandy soils of the Breckland landscape, with easy road links that make market towns such as Dereham and the city of Norwich within commuting distance.
The village retains a quiet, community-focused character: farming remains important locally, but many residents commute outward and village life centres on a parish church, a village hall and occasional local events. Architecturally there are traditional flint cottages and other historic buildings typical of rural Norfolk, and the network of lanes and nearby woodland and heathland make it pleasant for walking and enjoying the countryside.
