Thorpe St. Andrew is a riverside suburb on the eastern edge of Norwich in the Broadland district of Norfolk, England. Sitting beside the River Yare and close to the marshes and waterways that feed into The Broads, it combines suburban housing with open green areas and a strong boating and watersports culture.
With roots stretching back through the historic period, the area has a mix of Victorian streets and more recent developments, a modest local high street, light industry and many small businesses; many residents commute into Norwich. Leisure features - notably riverside pubs, marinas and the nearby Whitlingham Country Park - give it a semi-rural feel despite being part of the city’s wider commuter belt, and there’s an active community life centred on local clubs and events.
