Hopton on Sea is a small coastal village in the borough of Great Yarmouth, in Norfolk, England, sitting on the edge of the North Sea. It is known for its long sandy beach and dunes, backed by a promenade and a cluster of holiday parks and caravan sites that make it a popular family seaside destination in summer while remaining relatively quiet outside the season.
The local economy leans on tourism alongside agriculture and commuting into nearby towns, and the village retains a close-knit feel with a village hall, churches and a primary school at its heart. Like much of the coast in East Anglia, Hopton has had to adapt to coastal erosion and sea defences, and is appreciated for its simple seaside character, coastal birdlife and access to the wider Norfolk coastline.
