Cropton is a small village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, tucked on the southern fringe of the North York Moors National Park a few miles north of Pickering. It sits amid rolling moorland and mixed woodland, with the nearby Cropton Forest offering popular walking and mountain‑biking routes and a strong sense of remoteness and wildlife interest.
Historically an agricultural settlement, Cropton now combines farming, forestry and tourism; it is also home to a small independent concern, the Cropton Brewery. The village retains a tight‑knit community feel, with stone cottages, field boundaries and local events that reflect centuries of rural life in the North York Moors.
