The parish of Fylingdales sits between moor and sea on the eastern edge of the North York Moors in North Yorkshire, England. It includes the picturesque fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay and the historic hamlet of Fylingthorpe, with steep sandstone cliffs, narrow cobbled streets and coastal footpaths that attract walkers and birdwatchers alike.
Historically the local economy rested on fishing, small‑scale farming and the odd tale of smuggling, while Victorian visitors helped establish tourism as the mainstay today; holiday lets, cafés and village shops now sit alongside farming. A very visible modern landmark is the radar station at RAF Fylingdales on the moor, and issues such as coastal erosion and conservation of seabird colonies are important to the community; the nearest larger towns are Whitby and Scarborough.
